San Jose is an agricultural valley covered in orchards and is often referred to as the capital of Silicon Valley. It is located in the northern part of the Bay Area and is the center of the California computer industry, the largest city in California, stretching from the southwest coast of a bay to San Francisco. The clean, sprawling metropolis has sports, beautiful views, ethnic enclaves and thrives on travelers wanting to make their first steps into the world of technology. San Jose, a city of more than 2.5 million people, is home to California State University, Santa Clara and the University of Southern California.

The beauty of San Jose is that you can be in the city center, walking distance to everything and on vacation there are many beautiful things to see and do. You can fly into the city from San Jose Airport and be taken to your downtown hotel or the University of California at Santa Clara. To get to downtown, take the VTA Rapid 500 bus or get off at the Alameda County Courthouse and catch a bus to San Francisco Bay Area International Airport.

If you are traveling to the airport, a direct alternative is the Monterey Airbus, which flies from SFO to SJC or from San Francisco - San Jose Airlines or from Monterey's Marina in Prunedale, which is surrounded by Monterey Bay south of SanJose. With all the economic and industrial advances that it has made, San Jose is now considered the capital of Silicon Valley. In 1990, the city was named the "capital of Silicon Valley," and the population of SanJose and Silicon Valley continues to grow rapidly.

Households in San Jose have high living costs, but it is also home to a large foreign population, born mainly because of Silicon Valley's location. The University of Santa Clara and Stanford are nearby, and the city is one of the largest cities in the United States with a population of more than 1.5 million.

San Jose is the tenth largest city in the US that attracts high-tech professionals, and its Silicon Valley businesses invest more than $1.5 billion of their annual revenue in San Jose.
